Station - Instructions for candidate

You are an intern in the Emergency Department of a Perth metropolitan hospital.

Robert Astle, a 76-year-old man, collapsed while gardening this morning. He is now alert.

Your tasks are to:

  1. Take a focused history.
  2. Perform a focused examination.
  3. Interpret the ECG provided.
  4. State your most likely diagnosis and differential diagnoses to the examiner.
  5. Outline your initial management plan to the examiner.
  • Please verbalise your examination to the examiner; findings will be provided on request.

This is a 15-minute station, with 2 minutes of reading time.
