Station - Instructions for candidate

You are a final-year medical student on placement in a general practice in Mount Lawley. The GP has asked you to see the next patient, who has booked to discuss hormone therapy.

Janine Marsh, 51, has booked a long appointment. The GP has reviewed the file and asked you to talk with her, counsel her on the regimen noted in the record, and give preventive advice.

Your tasks are to:

  1. Take a focused history.
  2. Counsel her about menopausal hormone therapy.
  3. Give her relevant lifestyle advice.
  • You do NOT need to examine the patient; the examiner will give you the bedside findings if you ask for them.

This is a 10-minute station, with 2 minutes of reading time.
