Station - Instructions for candidate
You are a final-year medical student on placement at a general practice in Cannington.
Sunil Tamang, a 36-year-old man, has booked in with a cough that has lasted two months. He has not been seen at the practice before. The practice nurse has recorded his observations and weight.
Your tasks are to:
- Take a focused history.
- State your most likely diagnosis and differential diagnoses to the examiner.
- Request any relevant investigations and interpret the results provided.
- Outline your initial management plan to the examiner.
- You do NOT need to examine the patient; the examination findings are available from the examiner on request.
- You do NOT need to summarise your findings to the examiner.
This is a 15-minute station, with 2 minutes of reading time.
